Who is Coaching For?

Coaching is for those who are ready to get unstuck and move from where you are right now to where you want to be.

As a Mental Health Trauma Coach AND as one who has gone through trauma myself, I know what it’s like to be stuck in pain and unhelpful patterns of self-protection and self-defeating behaviors. Eventually, brokenness becomes who we are as opposed to something that’s happened to us.

Let me help you find your way back to your TRUEST self because when you do – you’ll find FREEDOM!

What is IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy?

IFS is a trauma-informed constraint-release therapy model where we befriend parts of ourselves that took on protective roles and unburden parts of ourselves that became wounded. In doing so, we gain more access to our spirit-led selves where true inner healing can take place. This is a process of healing from the inside out and therefore we re-discover true inner freedom

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a growth tool that helps us understand ourselves and our inner motivations – i.e. why we do what we do. Not only is it a map of our internal motivations (why we do what we do) but also a growth tool that helps us use our self-awareness to re-direct our dysfunctional (and subconscious) habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and doing so we can become the best versions of ourselves.

What is Betrayal Trauma Recovery?

I am a certified PSAP (Pastoral Sex Addiction Professional) and focus on betrayal trauma recovery. This is a trauma-informed model of therapy helping to heal both the addict and the one betrayed.

Sex addiction is like any other addiction in that it is shame-based, a coping method for deep inner pain, and comes in many forms from issues around love addiction (i.e. the desperate need for affirmation) to issues around sex/pornography/affairs, etc.

My primary focus as a PSAP is on healing betrayal trauma for the partner. I also work with couples and women who struggle with sex (or love) addiction.

What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

In short, coaching is like an architect while therapy is like an archaeologist. Coaching goes into the past to gain an understanding of how you got to where you are now – but then moves forward and helps the client build towards a future. Therapy is about digging into the past and helping the client resolve past issues and pain. Both work towards healing and transformation.

My credentials are unique to that of a typical personal coach in that I’ve had a lot of trauma-informed training. I prefer to work with the structural nature of coaching as I feel it progresses the client forward without ongoing exposure to potential re-traumatization.

What is a Trauma-Informed Coach?

A trauma-informed coach is a coach who has done additional training that is centered around the impact trauma has mentally, emotionally, and physically.

IFS and PSAP are both trauma-informed trainings I have completed. I prefer to work with the structural nature of coaching as I feel it progresses the client forward without ongoing exposure to potential re-traumatization.

Am I a good candidate for coaching?

When the pain of working towards transformation is less than the pain of staying the same – you’re ready for coaching! When you’re ready to take responsibility for your well-being despite what someone else should do, you’re ready! When you’re tired of being stuck in a mentality that isn’t getting you where you want to go, you’re ready! If you find that you keep re-traumatizing yourself by telling your story over and over – YOU ARE READY!

If you are simply wanting to discover more of why you do what you do and show up as your best authenitic self – you’re ready! 

About Me

Based on my experience as both a client and a Mental Health Trauma Coach, here are some truths I’ve learned:

  • A lot of time and energy is wasted when we ignore and devalue parts of ourselves that are desperate for our attention.
  • To get unstuck, we have to stop rehearsing the problem, interrupt our habitual patterns of coping, and shift our focus to what is going right (right now). 
  • We have to adopt a (whole-being) integrated approach that has the power to shift our nervous system; internally creating room to breathe, giving us the capacity to lead ourselves to breakthrough and transformation.

The bedrock of freedom and transformation is found in YOU realizing your worth and belonging, your ability to love and be loved, and your capacity to find safety and security in who you are.

IFS and the Enneagram create a clear path to discover all three and help you rediscover YOU!

By slowing down, getting curious, and learning what it means to be with the parts of ourselves that are hurting and burdened with pain and/or unhelpful protective patterns  – we gain the capacity we need to heal ourselves.

We all need a sense of worth and belonging, love and connection, and safety and security.

When we befriend all parts of ourselves – we can offload the burdens of our false identity and the masks we’ve been wearing just to survive and instead show up in life as our truest selves.
